Configuring your Windows to create Minidump file when BlueScreen Happened

When your windows got BlueScreen (Blue Screen of Death) you could find out the cause by using BlueScreenView software. The software worked by scanning Minidump file created by Windows when BlueScreen crash happened. Unfortunately, not all Windows computer configured to make Minidump file when Bluescreen crash happened. The solution is configuring it manually. How? Just read the complete guidance.

Configuring your Windows to create Minidump file when BlueScreen Happened

For you Windows XP user:

1. just click on “Start” -> and right click on “My Computer” and select “Properties”

Click on Properties

2. in “Advanced” Tab, click on setting button in the sub tab of “Startup and Recovery”

Click on Setting

3. in sub tab of “Write Debugging Information”, select “Small Memory Dump” then click on OK

Click on OK

 

For Windows Vista user:

1. Click on “Start” -> right-click on “Computer” and select “Properties”

Click on Properties

2. Click on “Advanced System Settings”

Click on Advanced System Settings

3. in “Advanced” tab click on “setting” in the sub tab of “Startup and Recovery”

Click on Setting

4. in “Write Debugging Information” box, select “Small Memory Dump” and click on OK

Click on OK

 

For Windows 7 user:

1. Open Control Panel then click on “System And Security”.

2. Click on “System” and click on “Advanced System Settings”

3. in “Advanced” tab, click on “setting” button in the “Startup and Recovery” box

4. in “Write Debugging Information” box, select “Small Memory Dump” and click on OK

After you configured Minidump correctly, everytime windows got BlueScreen (BSOD), a minidump file will be stored in your Windows. This file can be accessed by BlueScreenView software to analyze what caused BlueScreen in your computer. I hope this information will be useful.
