1. Go to your plugin page and then disable all active plugins.

Go to your plugin page and then disable all active plugins

2. Go to wordpress update page and then re-install your wordpress.

3. Go to plugin page again and activate all plugins.

Now your missing wordpress visual editor’s icon should appear again.

Troubleshoot:

If those solution above can’t solve your problems, on step 3, activate the plugin one by one. Check if there’s a plugin caused your wordpress visual editor’s gone.

    Thanks for the advice!

We were having problems with our blog after the update, so I applied your advice – and with the plugins all disabled, everything worked again!  I then went through each and every plugin until I found the one that was giving us problems (as it turns out – it was this very plugin that I’m using to comment – Disqus – which needed an update, but for some reason wouldn’t auto update), I manually updated the plugin, and now everything works!

Wouldn’t have been able to get it done without the effort on your part to post this fix – THANKS!!!!

Great work.  This just happened to me and I found your solution straight away.  Any idea why it did this?

Didnt work for me – I deactivated all the plugins and clicked on re-installed now – and then activated the plugins one by one still no success.

I even re-installed without any activating any plugins still no success

The Problem is still there. Any advise to solve this issue?

OMG I have spent THREE days trying to fix this. It was NOT my plugins, but re-installing wordpress fixed it in a couple of mins. Super!!! Thank you!

Several days ago disappeared also in my Blog WordPress the Visual Editor Toolbar, and although I have searched to solve this problem, all gave me the same solution (enter in “User Profile” and make sure that was not active the option “Disable the visual editor when writing “) but doesn’t work for me…

The solution that has worked perfectly in my Blog, wich works 100% after testing a lot, has been re-upload the entire folder with TinyMCE javascripts to the server because apparently they were wrong …

Thanks and Greetings to All from Barcelona! ! !
