You have just migrate to Windows 8? Confuse with Charm Bar feature, Switcher Hot Corners, Start Screen etc? Those features can be included as new features in Windows 8, it’s alright for you to confuse. Just like you can find Charm Bar by using Win+C shortcut and direct pointer to upper right. If Switcher Hot Corners can be found on the left side below near Taskbar. While for Start Screen, you can find it if you press Windows button on keyboard.
If you don’t get used to and confuse about new features in Windows 8, you’d probably bring your mouse to the right and never wrong in typing so bringing you to unwanted menu. SOT will give a way to turn Charm Bar and Switcher Hot Corners off in Windows 8.
Previously SOT once shared IObit StartMenu8, you can use it to develop Charm Bar and Switcher Hot Corners but it gave Start Menu. But if you really want to make it disappear, you have to try to edit your registry. Here’s the way:
First of all, open Search in Charm Bar and type the regedit and press on writer.
Them open path:
Select folder named ImmersiveShell and right-click, choose New then Key.
Give a name EdgeUI and click on Enter.
On the right EdgeUI, and click New then DWORD (32-bit) Value and named it DisableTLcorner.
Create New and still click on DWORD (32-bit) Value and named it DisableCharmsHint.
Double click on DisableTLcorner and fill in this value as 1, it is functioned to non activate Switcher Hot Corners on the upper left.
Double click on DisableCharmsHint and fill in value with 1, it is functioned to non-activate Charm Bar on the upper right side.
After that, restart the computer you used, then you won’t be moved back and forth when you do a wrong click on the corner of screen.
Since you cannot move into Start Menu, you can use Windows shortcut and also Alt+Tab. If you want to display Charm Bar, just press on Win+C.
