Windows 8 Basis Microsoft Surface Which was Claimed as “iPad Killer”

Does “iPad killer” term sounds exaggerating for you? If you were Bill Gates, no wonder if you enthusiastically announced your product launching while connected it with your effort to stand over iPad. You probably once heard this funny story: In 2001, Bill Gates announced passionately in an International Software and Hardware Producers meeting that Tablet is the future of computer world, everyone will use it someday. A prestigious and visionary statement, wasn’t it? The funny thing is… Yup… In fact, the visionary person’s company weren’t produced their own tablet for such a long time, and in the contrary had to watch Apple dominating tablet market for years with their iPad. Even people probably forgot that Bill Gates was the one who firstly spoke buoyantly about Tablet technology. What a sad…


No wonder Microsof Surface, Microsoft’s produced Tablet with Windows 8 basis, launching was a rousing event with passion to throw iPad from their throne.

Microsoft in this launch was not only announced Windows RT tablet (Windows 8 version run with ARM-basis processor) but also launched Windows 8 Pro tablet. Windows 8 Pro is Windows traditional version which used Intel chip.

In Press Conference by Microsoft which was held in Los Angeles, CEO Steve Ballmer revealed two variants from those Microsoft tablet.

Windows 8 Pro, more or less is desktop version of Windows 8 Professional and Intel-basis while Windows RT is ARM-basis. Windows 8 Pro will offer desktop experience just like Windows 8, while Windows RT is a mobile version of Windows 8. But there’s no exact news about the advantage offered by this Windows RT.

Windows 8 Pro tablet has 10.6-inches Full HD ClearType full screen equipped with Gorilla Glass, USB 3.0, dual wi-fi antenna, multi-touch keyboard, trackpad, 42 W-h battery, and 64 GB or 128 GB storage options; with Ivy Bridge Core i5 processor run it.

Windows RT tablet is available with 10.6 inches HD Display ClearType and 31.5 W-h Battery. The interesting fact, this tablet supports only USB 2.0. Other features include the 32 GB or 64 GB storage options, dual-wifi antenna, multi-touch keyboard; run with ARM-basis chip produced by NVIDIA.

The price and the amount of goods are still uncertain for each tablet. But, Windows RT Tablet would be cheaper than Windows 8 Pro tablet.
