Some few recent weeks, Dropbox users complained about increasing spam to email they used for Dropbox. After a sequence of investigation, Dropbox announced those spasm truly related with ‘leaks’ in Dropbox security crack.
Dropbox had been hacked and many usernames and passwords were stolen! One of them even Dropbox employee, and he had files contained email address of Dropbox users. This document is the main reason for Dropbox users receiving many spasm.
Related with this spam matter, also username and password stealing from some Dropbox users, this cloud storage company has contacted users who were injured and inform about this leaks, so they could change their password. Dropbox also introduced new security features to help preventing this type of incident happened again. Those features are:
- Two-factor authentication, additional option which needed two identity function (it had been introduced in Yahoo, Facebook, Gmail, and Outlook). This facility will be available for some next week.
- Automatic mechanism to support recognizing suspicious activity. This feature will be announced
- Dropbox page which made you possible to monitor active login to your account.
- In some cases, Dropbox suggested you to change your password
