Photoshop firstly made by Thomas Knoll and John Knoll in 1988 and distributed by Adobe System at the same time. Here is developments you can see from Photoshop in their first version until now:
Adobe Photoshop 0.63
This first-version-Photoshop was made for Mac which was released in January 1988. Icon from this Adobe Photoshop 0.63 only black and white eyes image.
Welcome Splash or About Screen provided by 0.63 version was also unattractive.
Tools owed was also not much. They were only Marquee Tool, Lasso Tool, Hand Tools, Erase Tool, Eyedropper Tool, Smudge Tool, Sharpen Tool, Blur Tool, and Brush Tool.

Adobe Photoshop 0.87
In the next year, 1989, March, Thomas Knoll once again released Photoshop with version 0.87. Renewal done here was happened in Welcome Splash or About Screen, Magic Wand Tool, and Clone Stamp Tool.
While for workspace and also the icons, they were still aimed for Mac users.
Adobe Photoshop 1.0
A year after, which was on February 1990, Photoshop was released in version 1.0 which brought fantastic changes. Adobe Photoshop 2.0

Icon provided by Photoshop 2.0 had color with redeye photo and frame.
For display, Welcome Splash or About Screen was also had color, which were canvas and also lens.
For Toolbar, they were still the same as version 1.0.
Whereas for Workspace or worksheet of Photoshop 2.0, was still the same with previous version. There was also additional features such as Paths, CMYK Color and EPS Rasterization.
Adobe Photoshop 2.5
In November 1992 Adobe Photoshop had been released for Mac and Windows version. For Mac, Photoshop was given Merlin codename, while for Windows, Photoshop was given Brimstone codename. In the next year, Photoshop was released for IRIX and Solaris, many changes happened in Photoshop version 2.5, some of them were: 16 bit channel support, Welcome Splash or About Screen, Toolbar and neater Workspace.
Adobe Photoshop 3.0
September 1994 Photoshop version 3.0 had been released with codename Tiger Mountain for Mac, while for Windows, IRIX and Solaris was released in November 1994. the most prominent change in this version was color pallet and also layer. For icon, Werlcome Splash, Toolbar and Workspace were not far different.
Adobe Photoshop 4.0
After two years, which was November 1996, Adobe once again released Photoshop version 4.0 which was given codename Big Electric Cat whether for Windows and also Mac. Adobe didn’t have to wait for long to release the latest version of Photoshop which was Photoshop 5.5. In this Photoshop 5.5 version codename given ws Strange Cargo was still the same as before. Not many appearance change happened in this 5.5 version. Prominent changes was ImageReady which was added in Photoshop, Save for Web and also Extract.
Adobe Photoshop 6.0
Venus in Furs was codename from Photoshop 6.0 which was released on September 2000. The looks was still the same as version 5.5, 5.0 and 4.0. Only the features added such as: Vector Shapes, Liquify was one of features in Filter and Layer styles/Blending Options dialog.
Adobe Photoshop 7.0
March 2002 Adobe released Photoshop 7.0 which was given codename Liquid Sky. Not long after that Photoshop CS6 appeared with codename Superstition which was released on May 2012. There are many things new in this Photoshop CS6, some of them: new looks with black appearance, Blur Gallery, Adobe Camera RAW 7, and many more.
It’s a long evolutions reached by Photoshop until now. You can see that Adobe System is diligently launch their latest products to market, every one or two years, Adobe always launches the latest version of Adobe Photoshop.
