Google is one of the largest company in America, after they success by Android OS, now they tried to popularize one of their OS once again, which is Google Chrome OS. Actually this is not a new OS. Google Chrome OS had been introduced before in July 7th 2009, but far from popular as Android. A few moments later, exactly in November 2009, Google launched open source with Chrome OS basis named Chromium OS.
June 15th 2011 Chrome OS once again appeared in market and produced by Samsung under name Chromebooks. But this OS wasn’t wildly develop as Android. This year, Google seemed wanted to push this OS once again, and Chromebooks is sold for $249 or about IDR 2,5 millions. Do you have interest to buy it? First of all, download first Chromium OS version VirtualBox and VirtualBox software in this link:
After that, install VirtualBox and extract Chromium OS. Then after VirtualBox is installed, click on New to create virtual computer. In OS type, select Linux and for the version, select Other Linux.
Then, decide the RAM memory size, which at least drain your computer resource, but it’s still in green point.
In virtual hard disk selection step, this is the important moment you shall not be wrong! Select Use existing hard disk and click on folder logo and select Chromium OS which has been extracted.
If virtual computer has been finished in making, now you just have to set it. You can right-click and select Settings. Go to System->Processor and tick on Enable PAE/NX. It will make Chromium run in booting system.
Then, set also Network->Adapter 1->Advanced part and select adapter type into Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM). It will make Chromium OS can be connected with internet.
After that, try to run Chromium OS in VirtualBox by double-click on the OS. See the display, simple but cool.
