Mozilla Firefox 5.0 beta 2 Released, What’s New?

Three weeks after Mozilla released Firefox 5.0 beta 1, mozilla released Firefox 5.0 beta 2. There are several new features and improvement on Firefox 5.0 beta 2 such as:

1. Now Firefox 5.0 beta 2 supports CSS animations

2. You can switch between firefox development versions easily (Aurora – beta – release)

3. Do-Not-Track header preference has been moved to increase discoverability.

4. improved memory, javascript, canvas and networking performance.

5. Now spell checking for some locales was improved.

6. For linux users, Firefox 5.0 beta 2 desktop environtment has improved dramatically.

7. Firefox 5.0 beta 2 has better supports on HTML5, XHR, MathML, MIL and canvas

But it still need a long time from Firefox 5.0 beta 2 to be Firefox 5.0 final released. It still has several problems which might be fixed on the next beta versions. These are several problems found in Firefox 5.0 beta 2:

1. Slower when scrolling in the GMail window.

2. Crash when start firefox using locked profile.

3. For Adobe Reader X user, you might be have unstable experience when viewing PDF documents using Firefox 5.0 beta 2.

4. Firefox 5.0 beta 2 can’t work on Mac Power PC CPUs.
