Are you connected in office network which provided many computers with different operating system? If you use Windows and you want to send a file to your friend who use Ubuntu, you’d probably find it’s hard to set it. You can use cloud or peer to peer to share data, but it can be said as impractical. You should upload file first, then your friend is able to download it.
Have you ever experienced problem as illustrated by SOT above? Actually it’s an easy case, if you just want to send file across operating system with local network, you can use NitroShare. By using NitroShare, you can send file from Widnows to Linux, Windows to Mac, or Linux to Mac, in one condition: all of them are still in the same network.
If you use Windows, you can download .exe version. While for Linux with Debian base such as Ubuntu, feel free to download the deb version. If you use Mac, you can download dmg version. What about Linux RedHat and other Linux version? You can download rpm version and tar.gz version.
After downloading NitroShare version which is suitable with operating system you used. Now, you just have to install it.
If you already installed it, you’ll see NitroShare in system tray. Right click on NitroShare, after that select setting.
Do setting process as you wanted.
If you don’t want anyone freely send file to your computer, you can set it to Security Tab and select “Always prompt before accepting file.”
If you want to send file, you can do it by right-click on NitroShare in system tray, then select Send Files. You can also do it just by drag and drop the file.
