I wonder if downloading a Youtube video is legal. I tried to find some info from the internet and some of the answers are legal (personal, non-commercial use only), and most of the time I got the answers are illegal. Do you know exactly the solution?

    • Hi Hank,

In the bottom of every video description, there are the license details of the video. If written as “creative commons attribution license”, it means you can download, copy and distribute it and it’s legal. If the license written as “standard YouTube license”, it means you can’t download and redistribute it. However, the default settings when uploading a video is “Standard YouTube license”. Sometimes video without any copyright also used that license details too if the uploader doesn’t change the license settings.

      Hope this help.
